We spot the rising stars and fill you in on the latest baby and childrenswear labels for 2016

Championing under-the-radar brands and showcasing the key designers that will be worn by London’s littlest trendsetters come 2016, Bubble London is hands down our favourite fashion event of the year! Supporting British brands is high on our priority list here at Baby London and the gorgeous labels in the ‘Home-grown Talent’ collection certainly didn’t let us down. If you’re looking for something extra special, the adorable miniature creations from The Little Shoemaker will steal hearts!

Venturing across the channel, the next big thing is most definitely Spanish and Portugeuse designers. Wedoble, Petit Oh!Message In The Bottle and Sissonne were just some of the many new comers from sunny southern Europe. There’s a strong aesthetic that ties these brands together, one that harks back to times gone past – think classical cuts, traditional fabrics, plenty of ruffles, Peter Pan collars and vintage florals. To stay on top of the trend, keep an eye out for our spotlight feature on Spanish and Portuguese designers in the next issue of Baby London, out in August.

And to round things off, a special mention must go to the fourteen launch-brands who went head-to-head for Bubble London’s much-coveted Rising Star Award. Judged by a panel of industry experts, all the Rising Star finalists were of note, but just some of our favourites included the seriously cool, Mr Wolf KidsWhere’s That Bear, with their bright, playful pieces; the British, vintage-inspired label, Little Wardrobe and of course, the very worthy winner, Italian shoe brand, Little Lulu’s.
