Mother-of-two Caroline Dobson takes the Silver Cross Wave out for a spin.
Following the arrival of our second child, we were looking for a pushchair that was comfortable, easy to assemble and allowed for both our sons to ride together with ease. We selected the Silver Cross Wave and couldn’t have been happier with our choice.
Silver Cross Wave: The Lowdown
With its innovative One plus One system that transforms the stroller from a single to a double pushchair, there’s no doubt that the state-of- the-art Silver Cross Wave has been designed with growing families in mind.
The buggy also offers the ultimate comfort and protection, with a ventilated carrycot that’s suitable for overnight sleeping, plus a fully extending hood that provides sun protection.
The Look
You wouldn’t expect anything less from Silver Cross, but I have to say, the Wave is a stunning piece of kit! With its tan leather cushioned handle bar and detailing, and practical yet chic Granite colourway, this pushchair combines good looks with a robust edge that won’t mark and look forever unkempt. Of course, looks aren’t always everything, but we’re now rather proud of our Silver Cross double buggy and love cruising around local parks to show it off. A new Slate colourway has just been released, too, which is just as gorgeous.

Practicality and Drivability
From the get-go, the Wave is easy to use with quick assembly. I’ve always been sceptical about double buggies and how easy they are to drive, due to their size, but was pleasantly surprised. The suspension is something else and can take on any curb with ease, without waking our newborn. Even walking up our local towpath is no challenge for the Wave! It even comes with its own cup holder – ideal for a morning walk with a coffee – plus a hard shell shopping basket that’s great for days out. Folding and packing into the car is a breeze, too, thanks to its easy-to-use mechanism and removable wheels; and with a pull of the handle bars, the base is folded. Opening it is as simple as unclipping a side bar – even with a newborn and toddler, I can manage that!
Comfort
My two year old was excited to be facing his mummy again, and our newborn sits comfortably underneath, making it a compact ride for a double buggy. The bassinet is plush, with felt padding around the inside, creating a cosy interior, but also airy, with the option to open the top to allow air flow. It’s ideal for all types of weather, with two rain covers for wet days, and a fully-extendable hood and pop- out visor for when it’s sunny. My toddler loves the reclining feature on his seat and has taken to napping on the go. I couldn’t ask for more!
Silver Cross Wave: The Verdict
Given the size of the Wave, you might expect a cumbersome, heavy ride, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. The suspension, design and detail give a luxurious feel, but also a practical, hardwearing edge that assures you of its durability and long lifespan. I couldn’t recommend this buggy more.
