With summer in full swing, we reveal the twenty most popular summer-inspired names for baby girls and boys for your summer baby.

Summer is all about the warm weather and laid-back vibes, so for babies born during these months, there are plenty of names to choose from which take inspiration from the season, whether it’s star signs, the sunshine, summer holidays or warm beaches.

To help inspire any soon to be parents, baby travel brand Micralite revealed the most popular summer-inspired names for baby girls and boys, through analysing over 150 summer-related names against the latest data from the Office of National Statistics and finding the number of children born with those names across five years, before ranking them by order of popularity.

The name Isla is of Spanish and Scottish origin meaning “island” and radiates the thoughts of a warm, tropical island.

Across the 5 year period analysed, there were 15,625 babies born with the name Isla, placing it at the top of the list for Summer inspired names, with the name ranking, on average, third most popular among all girls born during that time.

2. Phoebe

With Greek origin, the name Phoebe means “radiant, shining one”, which represents the summer sunshine.

3. Ruby

A great name for a baby girl born in July, as Ruby is derived from the name of the gemstone which is the birthstone of July.
