From A Mother To Another, the charity initiative from JoJo Maman Bébé, starts collecting again on Tuesday 2 February 2016, this time for those in need in the UK, plus the thousands of Syrian refugees living in Lebanon.

In order to reduce the shocking levels of clothing waste that end up on landfill sites every year,  JoJo will be collecting shoes, boots and all other items of unwanted children’s clothing in sizes 0-6 years at its 72 stores across the UK and Ireland. If possible, customers are being asked to donate complete outfits in order to give something worthwhile to children in desperate need of clothes. Each of the donated pieces are sorted into sex, size and season, and beautifully gift wrapped. The packages will be distributed by some of The Trussell Trust’s 420 food banks across the UK and a number of partner charities on the ground in Lebanon.

Clothes

“The situation in Lebanon is dire, and the millions of women and children living in makeshift tents are in urgent need of emergency humanitarian aid until it is safe to travel home,” says Laura Tenison, founder and CEO of JoJo, who visited the refugee camps in the Bekaa Valley late last year. “They left Syria with whatever they could carry. Their children have outgrown their clothes long ago and are often in rags. The gift of From A Mother To Another brings tears of gratitude. Children are dying from the cold, so we just had to help.”

“From A Mother To Another is the perfect way for one mum to bring a little light and a lot of comfort to another,” adds Helen Franks from The Trussell Trust.

We couldn’t agree more.
