The decision to start creating their own products meant Toks could have creative freedom, shoppers could buy a piece curated with her interior design flair and have peace of mind that each item was designed with safety in mind.
When Toks found herself being told that her suppliers were going elsewhere due to an exclusive opportunity, she decided to create seven bespoke collections that are not only practical for parents but beautiful.
The Baby Cot Shop’s aim is to help mums create a premium and practical nursery space for little ones to sleep, play and explore in. Opt for anything from the enchanting Tribeca Tufted Cot Bed to the ultra-stylish Salome Nursery Glider.

Inspired by Netflix series Bridgerton, these regal, Regency style designs take centre-stage in baby’s nursery. Featuring a classic and elegant aesthetic, they add character to little havens that will grow seamlessly with them.
History of The Baby Cot Shop
The Baby Cot Shop was founded 15 years ago and its success is attributed to Toks and her natural passion for business. Growing up reading her father’s medical books, she had originally planned to be a surgeon.
However, after a brief stint studying pharmacology, Toks traded human physiology classes for renovation – transforming her first home as well as friends and family abodes with her innate flair for interior design.
After her third son was born, she decided to return to work in the pharmaceutical industry but when her previous employer refused to give her the flexible hours her family life demanded, she followed her heart and chose an entirely new path.
Knowing that she was gifted in interior design, she set off to study – and with the most sought-after courses under her belt, set up her residential firm.
She later relocated to the United States where she ventured into the world of high-end furniture for little ones. To this day, Toks is proud to provide a five-star service and go above and beyond for every client, which became her goal after experiencing significant financial turmoil.
During the financial crisis of 2008, Toks owned a baby furniture store in Atlanta, but due to the economic climate, lost everything, including her suppliers, clients and store. She knew she had to use her business-savvy mindset to her advantage and decided to overcome this obstacle by moving her business online.
Starting from scratch again, she identified a gap in the UK market for nursery shoppers and relocated back to London.
One of the UK’s Most Inspirational Small Businesses
During the COVID-19 pandemic, The Baby Cot Shop remained the go-to destination for parents even amongst the most challenging times.
The Chelsea store was recognised as one of 80 inspirational businesses by the UK government and they helped more international mums than ever find their perfect nursery.
You might have even spotted Toks on billboards around the capital promoting accounting company Sage, demonstrating that small businesses can still thrive in a pandemic climate.
As well as a loyal client base in Chelsea and around the UK, The Baby Cot Shop have customers spanning the globe, from USA to the Middle East, who trust The Baby Cot Shop with some of their most extravagant briefs.
And when Toks isn’t conjuring up and designing the next big nursery interior trend, she can be found filming a practical video guide for YouTube, jumping onto an Instagram live to interview an expert or recording her esteemed podcast Living Inside Out, as seen in The Times and The Telegraph.
