Baby London has teamed up with Local Mummy to bring you a selection of great events throughout September. We really hope these events have been useful.

Totally Thames Putney Funday

When: 12th September

Time: 10am – 5pm

Where: Putney riverside, activities along the Embankment and in the Church Square

What: You can perk up those gloomy back to school faces by taking the brood to this really fun day out! Suitable for children of all ages, it’s the perfect way to spend a family Saturday together without hurting the wallet. There’s something for everyone, from Punch and Judy to the mini-funfair, giant games to live music and dance workshops – it really caters for the whole family. And don’t worry about food as you can try lots of different dishes from the various yummy food stalls. Make sure you don’t miss the great river race with over 320 boats taking part with a few silly crews. It’s not to be missed!

 

Baby and Toddler Show

When: 25th — 27th September

What: We love nothing more than being able to buy all our baby and toddler essentials under one roof, so when we heard about the Baby and Toddler show taking place in Sandown Park this September we knew we had to let all you yummy mummy’s know. It has over 150 brands in one place and helpful workshops taking place throughout the day about everything from parenting to hypnobirthing and sleeping to feeding.

 

Imaginary Friend Workshop

When: 19th September

Time: 11am – 3pm

Where: V&A Museum of Childhood

What: Does your child have an amazing imagination? This truly unique and inspiring workshop takes characters from your child’s imagination and turns them into drawings and later sculptures for an actual advert for the museum. World-famous designers and model-makers from Aardman, Blinkink, Dwarf, Picasso, Pysop and Alban Studios will be on hand to turn your child’s imaginary friend into a reality from a simple description. If your little one is still a bit young for this, then why not head over to the sensory pod area where they can enjoy improving their motor skills through sound, feel and light.

 

See Saw

What: Juggling a newborn plus finding things to do at the last minute is a skill set of its own, so why not turn up on the day with no booking needed to this friendly fun drop-in session for under fives. The session allows babies and toddlers to learn, play and explore in multi-sensory sessions designed to encourage creativity, curiosity and develop skills in communication. There is everything from music to play materials, creative activities to stories and rhyme time in a relaxed and informal environment (which is perfect if you suddenly remember you are still wearing your slippers… we have all been there!)

 

Barnes Village Food Fair

What: Whether you are still breastfeeding or your toddler is already refusing to eat everything you cook, this is a great way to get out and try new recipes, experience new foods and buy some scrummy ingredients for home meals. If your little one isn’t a foodie then don’t worry because there are plenty of other things to keep them busy and, with a dedicated kids’ area jammed packed with things to do from face painting, craft and music workshops and cookery classes, we know this is the perfect way to keep those little ones entertained while you shop to your heart’s content.

 

The Baby Show

What: Due to its popularity, we are giving you mums some serious upfront warning so you can book tickets in advance (saving 25%!) In its 13th year, The Baby Show is back in town to prepare all of you lovely first-time mums for your little one’s impending arrival, and with workshops and talks from such speakers as food guru Annabel Karmel to 100s of different stalls to buy from we know you should leave feeling very prepared.

What: A very important date for the diary for every socialite baby is ‘Party in the Square’ this coming September. In celebration of Trotters 25th Birthday, a fabulous party full of pony rides, a petting zoo, Victorian carousel, face painting, fete stalls, entertainers and much more is being put on in Duke of York Square, Chelsea and we simply can’t wait to take the girls!

NCT Kensington and Chelsea Meet Up

What: If you’ve just had a baby then take some time out for yourself at this NCT Kensington and Chelsea meet up. Enjoy some well-deserved tea and cake, find out how you can get involved with your local NCT branch and meet other parents in the area with little ones under the age of one.

 

Dino Snores Sleepover

What: Do your children (and you!) love the film a Night at the Museum? Well, now they can find out what really happens when the last visitor has left and the lights have been switched off at this one-off sleepover at the Natural History Museum. Wander through the dinosaur gallery on a torch-lit trail, watch a live science show, design your own dino T-shirt and snuggle up next to the diplodocus. In the morning there is breakfast and a live animal show.

Posture, Pelvis and Prams

When: 21st September (every Monday/Wednesday)

What: The Train Station Gym is a small, friendly local gym catering to all fitness levels. These sessions concentrate on rehab for the postnatal client which is infrequently talked about and yet is a very important component for the new mum’s health and sense of well-being after having a baby.  There are also Yummy Mummies sessions too!
