Sally Fazeli, the home renovator and mother of sons Remy, one, and Hugo, three, talks online blogging and motherhood

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging in 2013, mainly because I was often being asked on Instagram where different outfits were from. Since then it’s become an outlet where I can share aspects of my life, from fun memories to fashion finds. I’m so glad I took the plunge to do it!

Who do you like to follow on Instagram?

I met three of my best friends on this platform: Jules (@thisisjules), Claire (@thislittlehouse_), and Lauren (@huntersandheels) and I check their profiles daily for updates. I’ve also met with Masha (@masha_theone) a few times and her imagery gives me great inspiration.

What do you love about the platform?

I find the community really supportive – it’s a place where I can share the highs and lows of parenthood and life in general. I feel like someone is always behind me on Insta and I’ve made many real-life friends there.

Where do you take the boys on a sunny day?

There’s a place called Lytham St Anne’s in the North West and it has the most amazing ice cream, beach, park, little train and trampolines. The kids and I love it!

And if it’s raining?

We head to an indoor play centre or have fun at home.

What tips do you have for decorating a nursery?

Create a mood board! I’m a bit old-school and use PowerPoint because you can easily crop photos with it. Take screenshots of everything you like and put the pictures on one page – you’ll soon see how the palette starts to come together and this will help you to recognise what will work well in the space.
