Family blogger and mother of five, Chloe Thurston talks interiors wish lists and meeting her Instagram idols
Why did you start your blog, Uber Kid?
I started blogging about four years ago after I had my fourth baby. I was really aware of time whizzing by and wanted to force myself to have a photo sort-out every week to try to record some of our everyday life that my brain would be otherwise too full to remember!
What do you love about Instagram in particular?
My favourite thing about Instagram is that you can make friends all over the world, who you know are just as interested and excited about the same things as you, that you would in no way meet otherwise.
Who do you take inspiration from?
I love @scandimini, @cissywears, @themodernnursery and @molly_meg_ for kids’ fashion and décor, @dhowelldesigns for interiors, and @apphia___ for her amazing family. I’m lucky to have met most of them in person, and they are all just as inspiring in reality.
You share photos of the many corners of your lovely home, do you have a particular interest in interiors?
I am obsessed! The only problem is, I want to be minimalist, and it just doesn’t fit well with five kids!
What is the key to taking a good snap?
Daylight! I always think lots of natural light makes for the best shots. That, and perhaps clearing some of the more unsightly day to day stuff out of the way…
What’s on your Christmas wish list this year?
I think with the present influx, gorgeous baskets are always high on my list. My husband and I tend to buy a joint gift for ourselves, and as we’ve recently moved, it will definitely be something house related.
