The New Forest is packed with great places to eat and drink. We’ve been tucking in to scrummy food across the Forest and found four great places to eat where babies and toddlers are welcomed and catered for!
Stanwell House Hotel

Situated at the heart of Lymington’s pretty High Street, the stylish Stanwell House Hotel is a veritable haven just steps away from the hustle and bustle of this beautiful harbour town. The spacious and relaxing conservatory is the harried parents’ dream of a place to flop down and relax for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea (I loved it so much I’d have happily stayed for all four!). We all know how hard it is to find somewhere which gives us the sophistication we yearn for from our pre-baby days mingled with a family-friendly welcome. Well, you’ll find it here! And they have an enclosed garden, highchairs and plenty of space. Despite the lack of baby-changing, they’ve a snug area which local mums use for nappy changing. I can’t recommend this divine spot highly enough!

La Pergola

This traditional, family-run Italian restaurant is just a few minutes, walk from the bustling centre of Lyndhurst. Families are very much welcomed here and the chefs will prepare small portions of any of their dishes for little appetites. La Pergola is popular with tourists and locals throughout the summer so booking a highchair in advance with your table is a good idea at the height of the busy season! There’s a car park and a children’s playground.

Master Builder’s House

This fantastic pub and hotel must be situated in one of the most delightful locations in Britain. With simply stunning views over the Beaulieu River and plenty of tables to perch at to enjoy a summer’s afternoon, this is the ideal spot for a lazy lunch! The views from the tastefully decorated restaurant are just as good and children are welcomed wherever you choose to eat. High-chairs and baby-changing facilities are provided. The food is excellent and I’ll be back just to enjoy the views and the post-lunch amble along the riverbank! Utterly idyllic and with an enclosed garden for toddling little ones.

The Rose and Crown

If you’re looking for a lovely pub garden to sip your Pimms in and watch the children play, then this is the one for you. Dating back to the 13th century, the Rose and Crown is a traditional forest inn with a great garden. There’s plenty of space for little ones to totter whilst you enjoy the summer sunshine! Just perfect for a long lunch in the sunshine or a chilled out summer dinner if you’re camping in Brockenhurst!
