New mum Charlotte Watson and baby Thea take the Cybex Priam for a test run…
With glamorous mums across the globe making the Cybex Priam their pushchair of choice, including Liv Tyler, Keira Knightley and Binky Felstead to name but a few, the German-based brand has proven to be a real hit with style-conscious mums and dads.
Although it has teamed up with fashion icons such as Jeremy Scott and Anna K for exclusive collections, Cybex is not just renowned for its style – it has a plethora of safety and innovation awards to shout about too.
Attractive?
The Priam really is as stylish as it is practical, offering a generous array of denim-style looks, ranging from muted tones to bolder statements. I opted somewhere in the middle with Autumn Gold.
The pushchair’s design takes inspiration from American designers Ray and Charles Eames, and it really shows in the striking chrome chassis, with its cool clean and modern lines.
Practicality and drivability?
As a first-time mother, I was conscious of whether the Priam’s size would impede others when out and about. However, I’m pleased to report that its dimensions are ideal for navigating fellow shoppers, even at peak times!

It’s also light and nimble in traffic, leaving you one hand free to fill the generously sized shopping basket below.

At 5’10, I struggled to find a pushchair that allowed for a longer stride, but I can safely say that the Priam does. The handlebar can be adjusted with ease to any height, and the seat has been designed to be at table level.
Whether I’m travelling by bus, car or train, the Priam is easy to fold, or park up and secure with one hand and a flick of the footbrake.
Comfort?
The Priam really excels in this department. The drive is naturally smooth for strolling, but its ability to handle rough terrain amazed me too.
A towpath walk is a daily ritual for me, so I must thank the Priam’s memory foam mattress and smooth suspension for assisting me in keeping up my routine while Thea snoozes in her spacious carrycot.

We’ve also been very impressed with the lie-flat seat position, which is now Thea’s favourite way to travel.
Verdict?
Gliding effortlessly through the daily throng of motherhood, the Priam takes the challenges of your day in its stride.
So far, it has only enhanced my daily routine and I look forward to switching to the complete stroller package as Thea grows.
