Chewton Glen, for those in the know just the name will conjure images of excellence, luxury and perfection. For those hearing the name for the first time simply, sit back, relax and read on for you are about to be let in on the secret.
On arrival the attitude of all the staff will tell you what Chewton Glen is all about, your enjoyment.

Nothing is too much trouble and all your queries will be fully answered.Even the simple task of being shown to your room will instil a feeling of well being and relaxation. All rooms have been individually decorated, many by interior design specialist Anita Rosato, so no two rooms are the same but all are beautifully presented.

Room grades start from Bronze, although there is no way these can be described as basic, through to Gold and on to Suites and Master Suites. All suites have private balconies or gardens, with the top grade having beautiful views across the surrounding landscaped parkland. Perfect for families are the Duplex Suites, spread out over two floors with two bathrooms and large lounges. For couples my personal favourite would be the Masterman Ready Suite which entails sundeck and terrace, sitting room, bedroom and fabulous modern bathroom with plasma screen TV. Cue hot bath, glass of chilled white wine and TV showing your favourite programme.

As mentioned before

a stay at the Chewton Glen is all about relaxation

and who deserves this more than ‘Mum to be’ or ‘Mum without the children for a short period’. Here is where the Spa starts to play its part in making your stay perfect. If you have heard of a treatment it is available here. Hot pebble body massage, body polishes, and many others right through to holistic therapies such as rebalancing crystal body massage and reflexology. Skincare guru Linda Meredith has brought her 35-years of beauty experience to Chewton Glen with a ground-breaking spa collaboration. The treatment menu at Chewton Glen features ‘Haute Couture Facials’, ‘Collagen Facials’ and the remarkable ‘Linda Meredith O2 Facial’, in which oxygen, natures most powerful healing element, is infused into the skin increasing healthy cell regeneration and visible reduction in lines and wrinkles.

All treatments are available to be booked before you arrive so you can spend many a happy hour perusing the ‘menu’ in the comfort of your own home.

Fancy just wandering around the spa using whatever facility grabs your fancy? You can do that as well, all guests of the hotel have full use of the spa facilities. Want to feel the burn? Then use the state of the art gymnasium with air resistance equipment and cardio theatre. If that sounds too much like hard work then slip into the 17 metre ozone-treated indoor swimming pool. The spa caters for all your needs. A must for all visitors has to be a bob around the indoor hydrotherapy spa pool which has six separate therapy options dotted around within it.

The list of what is available at the spa runs on and on, purpose built dance studio, aromatherapy saunas and crystal steam rooms, outdoor whirlpool and cold drench showers. For those extra warm summer days there is also an outdoor pool in the grounds and if you are feeling that little bit extra active the site also includes an indoor tennis centre and also outdoor courts. All these are available within very competitive packages. Most of these include overnight accommodation, three course dinner in The Marryat, their award winning restaurant, breakfast and 2 treatments within the spa complex. Full access to the spa facilities are of course included. For full details of all options log on to: www.chewtonglen.com.

So what is partner, or perish thought, partner and children, going to do whilst mum is being pampered and spoilt. Well even if the children are with you for the break they can of course use the pool and leisure facilities themselves. There is even a set of male grooming treatments available if the children are not with you, so the relaxation does not need to be reserved for mum.

Onsite there are many walks to be taken through the surrounding parkland, a nine-hole golf course with clubs available from the porters lodge or a walk through the wooded valley to the beach. Christchurch and Bournemouth are just a short car journey away for the more traditional British day by the seaside. Of course there is the New Forrest National Park on your doorstep. Miles of walks, bicycle trails and all the other attractions associated with this beautiful area of southern England. Beaulieu National Car Museum and Bucklers Hard are two traditional favourites. If you are feeling a little more adventurous then Lymington and the car ferry to the Isle of Wight are a short car trip away for the extra special day out.

So there you have it, Chewton Glen Hotel, Spa and Country Club.  The perfect stay to refresh and replenish Mum or Mum to be with that extra special treat, and let’s face the facts, she deserves it!
