Regé-Jean Page, aka Bridgerton’s handsome Duke of Hastings makes his CBeebies Bedtime Stories debut this Mother’s Day.
Stop the press! Bridgerton’s ultimate insider, Lady Whistledown, has let us in on a little secret. Regé-Jean Page aka The Ton’s most eligible bachelor is to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story for Mother’s Day on Sunday 14th March.
This coming week will also see brand new readers Rag‘n’Bone Man and Felicity Jones join the roster of story-loving celebs. Oh, and Tom Hardy’s back with a brand-new book, too.
Regé-Jean will read Rain Before Rainbows by Smriti Halls and David Litchfield. The book is about a girl and her companion fox who travel together from a place of loss and despair, through uncertain times, towards the hope of colour, light and life. They learn that, in the midst of rain, rainbows can be hard to see but, with courage and the help of good friends, there is always a way out of darkness.
Regé’s story will air on Sunday 14 March, followed the next day by a story from singer Rag‘n’Bone Man. He will be reading My Dad Used to be So Cool by Keith Negley, a funny and relatable story about a dad who was in a band but who is no longer the cool guy he once was. An engaging story about how children can show their parents they are still cool after all, even if it’s not in quite the same way.

On Tuesday 16 March, actress Felicity Jones will read the very apt story, The Huffalots, by Eve Coy. Here a Mum wakes up her Huffalots to find they are grumpy. Eventually, with the help of a big cuddle, they become Lovealots. But it’s been a long day and Mum is now grumpy and tired. It’s a good thing the Lovealots know exactly what to do.

Thursday sees the return of Tom Hardy reading brand-new story Somebody Swallowed Stanley by Sarah Roberts and Hannah Peck, a thought-provoking story about the eventful journey made by Stanley, who is no ordinary jellyfish.
As he drifts through the ocean waves, Stanley is swallowed by a series of unsuspecting animals only for the reader to discover he is, in fact, a plastic bag. A kindly child comes to the rescue and repurposes Stanley so he is no longer a hazard to wildlife demonstrating how we can all make a difference no matter how small.

At the end of the story Tom surmises: “If one person can save a turtle, just imagine what we can all do when we work together. We can overcome diseases, invent amazing new things and make the world a better place by helping animals, and helping each other.”
To finish the week there will be a story read in support of Comic Relief. More details on who the special reader is will be announced soon. What a week!
CBeebies Bedtime Stories is on daily at 6.50pm on CBeebies.
