Bonnie Baby Launch First Stand Alone Store in Hong Kong

British baby and childrenswear label, Bonnie Baby is proud to announce the launch of its first stand – alone store, which opened in Hong Kong on August 23rd.

he store is located in The Peninsula Arcade at the prestigious The Peninsula hotel. It is the first baby and childrenswear store to be invited into the arcade, which his home to over 80 luxury shops including Chanel, Michael Kors Prada. Bonnie baby founder and designer Tracey Samuel and her furniture designer husband Gareth Griffiths have conceived the design concept for the Bonnie Baby store.

Together the design duo have come up with a store concept that is inspired by classic British furniture brands of the 1960’s, bought up to date with Gareth’s signature style – modern furniture incorporating traditional elements such as quality and attention to detail. The look is timeless, clean and simple – the perfect backdrop for Bonnie baby’s vibrant, colourful designs.

Designed to be tactile and soft, fittings have been made in a soft oak and a rose gold coloured metal with white gloss lacquer while large metal hanging rails incorporate Bonnie baby’s apple logo. The overall feel is typically British whilst incorporating fun elements such as rocking horse sheep. The lighting in store will be from handmade ceramic "Early Bird" lights, designed by New Yorker Amy Adams and supplied by Danish lifestyle brand Alma’s Room.

Tracey Samuel says, "We are so excited to be launching our first stand alone store, in one of the most prestigious locations in Hong Kong. I have travelling to Hong Kong for nearly 20 years with my different design positions and have come to think of it as a home from home. I love the vibrancy of the city and the people and am thrilled it’s the location for our first store."

Gareth Griffiths says "Bonnie baby stores will be launching across Hong Kong and China over the next few years, so one of the most important considerations was flexibility of design. It was important to have a softness to the design that children will appreciate and above all, the design has to complement Tracey’s designs."

Tracey Samuel, formerly Head of Knitwear for Sonia Rykiel in Paris, launched Bonnie Baby in 2005. Her husband Gareth joined the business a few years later, having spent a couple of decades designing and managing projects for some of the best-known furniture brands in the industry. He also ran successful design studios in Paris and London and he was founder of Dovetail Lifestyle Furniture.

The launch of the Bonnie baby Hong Kong will be followed by the rollout of further stores across Taiwan and China in 2013 and 2014.
