30 of Britain’s favourite chocolate bars have been ranked, and the results might surprise you.
We’re a nation full of chocoholics, clinging to every study that proves chocolate is good for you and consuming an average of 1.5 tonnes of the sweet stuff (that’s £12,000 worth) in a lifetime. Now Britains favourite chocolate bar has been revealed as the top 30 tasty treats are ranked. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it..
So what is Britain’s favourite chocolate bar?
New research by money-saving website VoucherCodes found that the humble Cadbury’s Dairy Milk is by far the favourite chocolate bar in the UK, beating the likes of Twix, Twirl and Toblerone to the top spot.

The study also found that a typical adult in the UK would eat an average of 7,004 chocolate bars in their lifetime, including 1,642 dark chocolate, 1,425 white and 3,934 milk.
And it’s not just chocolate bars – the average Brit also eats 104 Easter eggs and 668 slices of chocolate cake in their lifetime, as well as drinking nearly 3,000 mugs of hot chocolate.
Lifestyle editor of VoucherCodes, Anita Naik commented: “Although more than one third of nation say chocolate is their absolute favourite food, I was still surprised to learn our chocolate obsession will cost each of us £12k in a lifetime.
“It’s clear that despite bar sizes shrinking and prices going up, we Brits are still happy to spend our cash on a sugary pick-me-up.”
