A new trend of family-friendly discos is sweeping the nation, so we’ve put on our party hats to round up the best baby raves in the UK.

You may have thought that after starting your new life as a parent, navigating the world of baby groups and toddler tantrums, that you had waved goodbye to your raving days.  The Day-Glo get up banished to the loft, along with your questionable drinking decisions and the ability to sleep in until midday. But think again.

But if you’re picturing a panic-inducing day of nursery rhymes and soft-play, worry not, as these baby raves are pretty darn cool. From chart-topping DJs to interactive light shows these tot-friendly raves are giving Ushuaia in Ibiza a run for its money.

Rave-A-Roo

Perhaps the most eclectic kid-friendly rave around, Rave-A-Roo hosts floor-filling day time parties for the whole family. Boasting a line-up of top DJ’s, a soft-play room and live performances, there’s never a shortage of UV paint and glow sticks. The events are suitable for children and their (ir)responsible guardians and there’s even a bar for the grown-ups.

Where: Rave-A-Roo holds parties in some of London’s coolest venues, including Battersea Power Station and Ministry Of Sound.

Raver Tots

Raver Tots was founded by father-of-two Mike Pickets in 2017, offering up music to remind parents of their partying heyday and a range of performances and interactive games to keep the kids entertained. The events are now run by legendary hardcore and house DJ/producer Slipmatt, who performs at most of the events himself. The Raves also boast the likes of Hixxy, Wideboys, Artful Dodger and Nicky Blackmarket on their roster of renowned DJs.

Speaking about the project to Baby, DJ Slipmatt explains: “Raver Tots gives parents a chance to show their children who they used to dance to and gives them a taster of the rave scene. It’s a great bonding experience.”

Big Fish Little Fish

Considered the biggest baby ravers in the game, Big Fish Little Fish parties began way back in 2013. Describing themselves as an ‘independent, grassroots music and events crew of seasoned ravers,’ BFLF  pride themselves on throwing family-friendly parties with all the freedom and excitement of a mini-festival. Expect DJ’s banging out club classics for the grownups the while kids find their dancing feet and run around through tents, tunnels, and inflatables at a variety of fancy-dress themed events.

“Raving always came from the heart, a way to express a love of music and dancing with your friends,” Big Fish Little Fish founder Hannah explains. “BFLF extends that across the generations so you can rave with your family too. Cloud Twelve

The newly-opened, family-minded members club Cloud Twelve is launching a new series of Baby Raves and it’s Notting Hill site. The Baby Raves aim to provide fun for families while bringing the community together through dance and movement. Parents and their little ones will be able to dance to the latest hits, as well as live music from a resident DJ. Children can also enjoy face painting and themed events throughout the year.

Cloud Twelve also profess the cognitive benefits of their baby raves, including:

  • Increasing early sensory development
  • Developing vocabulary
  • Boosting mood
  • Building co-ordination

Baby Loves Disco is a daytime dance party for parents with babies, toddlers and young children up to 6 years old. The discos are held in some the countries best clubs with DJs mixing retro floor-fillers from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s with the latest chart tunes. guaranteed.

Where: The events began in America in 2005 and have since spread across the pond, bringing an alternative in kids’ entertainment to venues such as Clapham Grand in London, Coalition and Komedia in Brighton, and Pure and Circle Club in Manchester.
