10th Month supports new mothers in the first month after birth – the 10th month when attention switches to the new baby, with mothers often overlooked.
Research commissioned by Bepanthen has revealed that more than two in three (68%) UK mothers have experienced some form of negative feeling in the first month of the arrival of their new baby. Nearly half cited feeling lonely (48%), while two fifths (41%) claimed they lost their identity and 20% said they felt abandoned.
Most postpartum sites focus on how to look after the new arrival; 10th Month wants to shine a light on the forgotten mum. The site has plenty of useful articles, tips and advice on dealing with the many physical and emotional changes new mothers go through. Advice is delivered under the following categories: healing & health; emotional wellbeing; the new normal; your post-baby body; relationships and love.
