Kate Freud, her husband Jack and children Jago, Georgia and Willow (and granny too!) get a taste of the races at one of Ascot’s family days.
Despite the weather not being on our side, we donned our best frocks and headed to Ascot for a family day at the races. And though we weren’t quite sure what to expect, as we arrived it was clearly going to be a dream day for the kids!
From climbing walls to pony rides, sweet carts to cuddles with a giant Paddington Bear (and even ferret racing!) there was something for everyone.
My children particularly enjoyed watching the dogs endurance courses, especially when they jumped through rings of fire, the whoops of delights from the younger spectators was a joy to see.
And then of course, there was the racing itself. The children absolutely loved watching the horses jump the course and seeing the jockeys in their wonderful colours walking around the paddock.
It was a brilliant day out for all the family, and one I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable day out with the children.
